Free to Choose

“ I still remember when I first saw an Estonian translation of  Friedman’s famous book. I remember looking at the name, Free to Choose, and thinking that the words ‘free’ and ‘choose’ were both absolutely unthinkable for the communists. When I read the book, the ideas seemed very logical to me.”

 Mart Laar

 Former Prime Minister of Estonia

Free To Choose® is both a book and a ten-part television series by Milton Freidman , provides examples of how the free market works, and shows how it can solve problems where other approaches have failed.

These programs have helped millions of people understand the close relationship between the ideas of human freedom and economic freedom. In these programs, which first aired on January 11, 1980, Dr. Friedman focuses on basic principles. How do markets work? Why has socialism failed? Can government help economic development?
