Summer seminar in Georgia
 

Bringing the concepts of liberty in the former communist countries has always been the goal of IES. This year we advanced even further east and organize, in cooperation with the New Economic School as local partner and the The Friedrich Naumann Stiftung as co-sponsor, the first IES Europe & Liberty seminar in Bakuriani, Georgia (July 7-13) .

The seminar attracted students from Eastern Europe who usually don’t join seminars organized further West. The Friedrich Naumann Stiftung was co-sponsoring this seminar in Georgia.

This year’s faculty in Bakuriani  included :  Boudewijn Bouckaert (Law), Colin Ganley (History), Pierre Garello (Economics), James Taylor (Philosophy)

Students present at the seminar had also the opportunity of meeting and attending lectures by the New Economic School in Georgia, our local partner.
